Margaret was born and raised in Richmond BC and is the youngest of 8 children. There were always at least 2 pets in the home when Margaret was growing up. Cats, dogs, gerbils, birds, and countless strays made their way into her home and into her heart. It wasn't until Margaret was 7 years old that her love affair with horses began. She considers herself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to ride a varied range of horses until she was able to purchase her first horse at the age of 16. At the age of 25 she had to take a few years away from the horse world in order to raise her son.
In 2001 Margaret started as a volunteer with the Circle F horse rescue in Abbotsford BC. She started one day a week grooming and feeding but soon became part of the board of directors. It was while she was working with the horses at the rescue that she started to think about becoming an Equine Body Worker. Some of the horses needed a great deal of rehab and Margaret found it frustrating not knowing how to help them. In 2001 she was off to Calgary Alberta to take an Equine Massage Course. She returned to Calgary in 2002 to start on the advance classes and has continued taking a variety of courses, at a variety of schools, ever since.
It was through a contact at the school that Margaret found her beautiful horse Andante, a 17HH Westphalia mare. Unfortunately Andante had to be euthanized due to a complicated medical condition. She may be gone but lives on in the hearts of many. Margaret’s next acquisitions is a miniature horse named Glee and then another named Joc. Margaret has been taking carriage driving lessons and competed with both minis until Glee was retired in 2014.
It seemed a natural progression for Margaret to move on to Canine Massage. In 2005 Margaret signed up with pet massage and added Canine Massage to her list of skills. In 2007 Margaret returned to Calgary to take a more in depth Canine Massage course.
Today Margaret lives on a farm with all of her rescue animals close at hand.
Margaret's son Chae is a Chef living in Victoria BC
